Twitter, we get it, you want more advertising revenue
Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few weeks, you know that Twitter filed an S-1, and will be a publicly traded company late in Q4 of this year or early in Q1 of 2014. Twitter, which will trade on the NYSE under the ticker symbol of TWTR, is looking to dramatically scale it’s advertising revenue and become a serious advertising player in a Google/Bing/Yahoo/Facebook dominated arena.
To grow it’s advertising base and revenues, Twitter has began feverishly sending out email solicitations invite users to grow their follower base and revenue.
The first email I ever received from Twitter asking me to advertise was in November of 2012. The next time I heard from Twitter about advertising was June of 2013, over 6-months later. Fast forward to October of 2013, I have received emails on the 4th, 6th, 10th, 16th, 20th and now today, the 23rd.
As you can see, that’s quite a lot of solicitation, that nearly teeters on spam.
